A personal story influenced by family path.
La Romance small estate is part of a larger five generations family wine estate which exists since 1881. Rich in discoveries, beautiful meetings and sharings, my story is influenced by agricultural engineering studies in ISARA-Lyon, oenologist studies in Bordeaux, first experiences in Bordeaux too or in South Africa before coming back to my Côtes du Rhône roots. I have been learning a lot from great teachers such as Pascal Ribereau-Gayon and Denis Dubourdieu, oenologist Michel Rolland or technical directors such as Daniel Llose and Michel Depoisier. I had my first jobs in several prestigious wine estates : Château Petit Village (Pomerol), Château Léoville Las Cases (Saint Julien, Médoc), Domaine Glen Carlou (Stellenbosh, South Africa – Selected in best worldwide Chardonnay competition) and in Château Bonhomme (Minervois), what lead me to deal with high quality requirements levels only.

Winemaking is a passion. Working on matter has become the heart of this passion through the influence of first jobs experiences in wine sciences. Carefully, step by step from vine to wine, we love making our best to finally share with you great tasting moments, pieces of us, pieces of life and of nature that offer the opportunity to live a great adventure together.

La Romance name origins.
"La Romance" as a reference to our terroir with a name coming from the place "Saint-Roman" is really important to our local initiative philosophy. Furthermore, Saint Roman was a nature lover in a constant quest for silence and trees, just as we do. "La Romance" has a poetic origin too. Indeed, at the very beginning, romances were poetries composed by all kinds of troubadours on a musical melody able to touch people hearts. Finally, here is a link between poetry and winemaking : putting words about what we feel on wine tasting is a difficult exercise close to a poetry composition. The choice of appropriate terms is a stunning poetic and creative work. "La Romance" has finally became an obvious name.
